Brilliant buskers raise £570 for local children's hospice

22nd November 18

Noah's Ark Hospice

Back in October the Lower School were invited to take part in a fundraising concert for Noah’s Ark Hospice. Timings didn’t work out but the children were determined to get involved and help out.

With the support of music teacher Camilla, they YR3 and 4 children organised some brilliant busking outside their classrooms. With donations from parents, and many of them bringing in their own pocket money, they raised a fantastic £570.

To thank them for their hard work Priya, from the Hospice, visited a Lower School Callover to tell the children all about how their donation will be used.

The Hospice doesn’t currently have it’s own building, instead it supports children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditons with home visits, childrens groups and respite for parents and carers.

They are currently in the final stages of building their first dedicated centre and the money raised by KAS pupils will go towards this project. The centre will allow children to stay, with their families, to enjoy residential care and day activities in a specially adapted building.

Two of the buskers who helped to raise such a fabulous amount, helped to present the cheque to Priya on behalf of the school.
